KATIE BROWN
Founder/Executive Director
Katie Brown is a seasoned entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in launching restaurants and a clothing line, focusing on Slow Food and Slow Fashion. She has served on various entrepreneurial boards and mentored both business founders and U of O business students. Her most recent venture, Scorpion Creek Ranch, reflects her dedication to helping homeless teens. Inspired by her personal journey supporting her sister through mental illness, Katie is committed to standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
KC DUGGAN
Art Director/Operations Director
A Magna Cum Laude graduate from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, KC Duggan is a passionate advocate for children’s development through arts and education, with over 20 years of leadership experience in various industries, including film, non-profits, and SAAS. She excels in operations management, strategic planning, and program management. KC’s career highlights include her 10 years at Mindbody, leading teams through its evolution, and her service on a regional art museum’s board during the pandemic, helping ensure its survival and growth.

PALOMA DEINUM-BUCK
Social Media
Paloma is a creative consultant and social media expert with a BS from New York University and an MA from King’s College London. She specializes in digital media, especially TikTok, and is committed to fostering connections within communities. Paloma is dedicated to using her expertise to create opportunities and give back through mentorship and inclusive practices.

GINA GRAHAM
Educator
Gina Graham, founder of Math is Magic!, has over 20 years of experience in math education. She transitioned from a film career in Los Angeles to creating a private tutoring school in Eugene, OR. Gina has taught at the University of Oregon and developed curricula for middle school students. Her work in youth enrichment and her love of math have shaped her educational approach.

NATHAN GREENE
Resident Counselor
Nathan Greene, resident counselor at Scorpion Creek Ranch, has a background in watershed science and native habitat restoration. A long-time volunteer and board member at Growers Market and Harmony Event Medicine, he is known for his calm demeanor and commitment to helping others. Nathan believes in providing youth with the support and skills they need to thrive.

Culinary Director
Sydney Johnstone has a diverse background as a personal chef, medical professional, and volunteer. She has worked in various kitchens, including the Eugene Mission, and is pursuing a Culinary Arts certificate. Sydney’s strong faith and passion for helping others through cooking and hospitality are central to her work.

Chris Miller has over 30 years of experience in creative services and brand strategy. As the owner of Chris Miller Design, he supports small businesses with tailored design solutions. Chris brings his expertise in creativity and branding to Scorpion Creek Ranch, where he drives the organization’s creative vision.

Domenic Weber holds a Masters Degree in Education and has a diverse background in marketing, leadership, and education. He leads the development of curriculum using Project-Based and Experiential Learning, focusing on employability, life skills, and personal development. Domenic’s work is rooted in creating transformative educational experiences for youth.

Plaedo Wellman, with a bachelors degree in Philosophy, is an experienced educator with over a decade of teaching and curriculum development expertise. He focuses on creating interactive learning environments that promote critical thinking and practical application. Plaedo's holistic approach empowers students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts and prepares them for future challenges.

Layla Yarr has over 20 years of experience in executive support roles across industries. A graduate of Portland State University with an MBA, she has worked at institutions like UCLA and USC. Layla’s entrepreneurial background and leadership skills make her a valuable asset to the organization.
